A Letter from Our President: SEEDS Has Been Planted!

Dear Friends,

The last two years, post Hurricane María, have allowed us to go beyond providing help. We are now on the way to develop a new generation of leaders through the SEEDS program.

We were in Puerto Rico this past weekend with Instituto Nueva Escuela and Biz Nation for the launch of SEEDS! We have energized 100 students and their parents to be the generation that will be leading Puerto Rico's future.

Daniela Carvajalino from the Biz Nation kicked off the SEEDS program with leadership based values. She explained the importance of self confidence and identifying an opportunity through her personal story along with giving a "prize opportunity" of $10 (the amount she used to start her first business at age 7). Through this exercise, Allen, a nine year old won the $10. Allen went to Daniela at the closing and said, "You have a lot of talent, but I realized, so do I. So I am taking your $10 and I am not spending it. She asked, what are you going to do with it? He said, when you come back, I will tell you".

This is just the beginning of what together we hope to develop, an island of civically engaged and social entrepreneurs. Consider making a donation today to support Puerto Rico's future leaders like Allen.

With Warm Regards,

Angelique Sina
