5 Non-Profit Organizations in Puerto Rico
Non-profit organizations in Puerto Rico are essential to our society. In a world where a high percentage of the population is in need, people get together to create these organizations with a sense of service and care for others and to present solutions to urgent problems.
Hunger, lack of education, poverty, abandonment, disasters, and so on are still everywhere.
PUERTO RICO’S MAIN PROBLEMS
Puerto Rico is an island with a dynamic commercial activity. It is characterized by high productivity and fast economic growth. Being ruled by the United States Congress makes it a country with many benefits and opportunities for those who want to grow and open businesses.
Nevertheless, Puerto Rico is not the exception when speaking about demanding problems. Due to its geography, it is a very vulnerable region to climate change effects and has been hit by hurricanes several times -on average, once a year-.
But there are also hunger, poverty, health, and environmental problems, just to list some issues impacting Puerto Rican population.
To help minimize this, there are a lot of non-profit organizations in Puerto Rico. Hereunder we will list only five of them. But there are more than 300 in the whole island.
