Giving Back on Giving Tuesday at Mundo Verde
GIVING BACK ON GIVING TUESDAY AT MUNDO VERDE
Inspired by this global day of giving, Friends of Puerto Rico participated in giving ourselves. And so in preparation for this day, we visited fifth graders from Mundo Verde, a bilingual school in Washington, DC, to deliver copies of a children’s book series celebrating the culture of Puerto Rico. The book series, Rafi and Rosi, written and illustrated by Puerto Rican author Lulu Delacre, follows two Coqui Frog siblings as they explore the nature and culture of Puerto Rico .
These books are particularly meaningful for these students because in a few months around seventy of them will visit Puerto Rico, part of an annual tradition for the school.

Mundo Verde hosted a special assembly for members of our staff where in addition to the delivery of these books, we were able to present more about our SEEDS program and Café Ama and invite them to meet our students when they visit later in the year.

If you are inspired by this day of giving as well, please consider making a tax-deductible donation of any amount to us today so that we can continue to support economic development and education through entrepreneurial initiatives focused on sustainability and self-sufficiency for the people of Puerto Rico.
